Brie Puff Pastry

One of my favorite ways to eat special jams, fruit butters and sauces is in a Brie Puff Pastry sandwich. Hello…gooey special jam, fruit butter or thick sauce in the middle of melting Brie and surrounded by golden, flakey puff pastry…heaven!

Spiced currant and cherry sauce

Gather It

  • 1/2 a jar of any of Aunt Becky’s special jam, fruit, butter or sauce
  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
  • 8 oz. round Brie
  • French bread baguette

Make It

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  • Slice Brie in half horizontally
  • Place bottom half of Brie in oven-safe baking dish
  • Spoon 1/2 jar of selected special jam, fruit butter or sauce
  • Place top half of Brie on top (you’re making a Brie sandwich)
  • Cover Brie with thawed puff pastry sheet
  • Brie is round and puff pastry is square, so you can cut off the extra edges if you want. I like to eat that bit as well.
  • Bake for 20 minutes until puff pastry is golden brown
  • Slice baguette into small slices while Brie is baking
  • Cut into 8 to 10 slices, like a pie

Gobble It

  • Spread Brie, puff pastry, and gooey jammy goodness over sliced baguette
  • Fight with your friends, I’m only partially joking
  • Be prepared with another round of Brie and puff pastry (they come 2 sheets in a package)
