Caramel Pear Butter Flatbread

Layers of goodness…fresh pizza dough, Caramel Pear Butter, pancetta, goat cheese and toasted walnuts make a nice appetizer or a light supper with a side salad of field greens.

Gather It

  • 1 pre-made pizza crust
  • ½ large Vidalia onion
  • 1 Shallot
  • Olive oil
  • ½ cup Pear Butter
  • 4 very thin slices pancetta
  • 2 oz. crumbled goat cheese
  • ¼ cup toasted walnuts

Make It

  • Preheat oven to boil and broil walnuts until toasted, (1-3 minutes), set aside to cool
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  • Slice onion thinly and mince shallot and sauté 5 to 7 minutes until caramelized
  • Divide pizza dough in half and place each half on cookie sheet
  • Brush pizza dough lightly with olive oil
  • Spread Caramel Pear Butter onto crust, add onions and shallots
  • Top  with pancetta torn into small pieces, goat cheese and toasted walnuts
  • Bake for 15 minutes

Gobble It

  • Cut each flatbread into 6 pieces
